Eurasian Collared-Dove
|
West of
Calipatria, along Eddins Road, some of our lucky participants
spotted six dove species: Eurasian Collared-Dove, Mourning, Common
Ground-Dove, Ruddy Ground-Dove, White-winged, and Inca!

Some years
the Imperial Valley is host to an invasion of Mountain Bluebirds.

These
beautiful azure jewels were along English Road, in the same
pasture that was being used by the Mountain Plovers. They
were especially partial to this salt cedar bush.
|
In many
areas of the Imperial Valley were flocks of White-faced Ibis
probing in fields for tasty morsels.

Greater Yellowlegs
|
Shorebirds
are a big draw along the Salton Sea and in flooded fields.
Greater Yellowlegs were spotted by many of the festival visitors.
