Cozy Inca Doves
|
First target of the day was Ruddy Ground-Dove which
we had nice looks at after sorting through many Inca Doves and
Common Ground-Doves. These four Inca Doves were cuddled up
tight and warm on a brisk morning. |
We then found Mountain Plover near English and
Sinclair Roads and had a great look at a Prairie
Falcon. |

Mew Gull
|
Yellow-footed Gull proved to be our nemesis as we ran the entire
sea wall with no luck. We did get to see a Mew Gull and the
Reddish Egret which were lifers though! |
This Lewis's Woodpecker was another treat as it
perched on high and we caught sight of the Zone-tailed Hawk in the
distance. The Gray and Vermilion Flycatchers put on a show
for us at Cattle Call Park.
Lea Anne and I went back that afternoon and got these nice pics of
the Gray Flycatcher. We met Rick, Richard and Marty and went
down to the New River Wetlands Brawley site where we enjoyed the
sunset with Least Bittern, a pair of unexpected Lesser Nighthawks,
a Wood Duck and a Coyote chorus! |
