Common Ground-Dove
|
A very early visit to a friend's house in Fallbrook
gave a look at a Western Screech-Owl peeking out of it's box and
calling it a day. Thanks a bunch for the view, the coffee
and the muffin Mickey and Doug!! California Quail were soon
spotted in the yard and two Lewis's Woodpecker were a treat as
well. |

Anna's Hummingbird |
San Elijo Lagoon was loaded with birds and we saw
California Gnatcatcher and this beautiful male Anna's Hummingbird
although the Harris's Sparrow was not seen. This Harlequin
Duck at De Anza Cove was a real show stopper. |

This Osprey made quick work of the fish it had snagged out of
Mission Bay.

Sunset Cliffs |
The Northern Fulmars that had been all the news for
the past several weeks were not to be found when we got out onto
the Ocean Beach Pier. We had one shearwater skimming the surface
way out there but I could not tell what it was. Our trip
ended with a fantastic sunset as we made our way to the Marriott
where Lea Anne was attending a conference. Robert and Janet
would spend another day in San Diego before flying out to
Michigan. |
